MINUTES 3

1. Directorial Vision

Think: What is the significance of reformation to us?

Debbie hopes that all of us will form a directorial vision that we are convicted in so that we will know the purpose of the play as we carry out our duties.

Focus of the play:

  1. How we made a stand to separate from the Roman Catholic church.
  2. How God works through one man
  3. Always God-centred!!

2. Roles (with datelines in red)

Scriptwriter: JQ

-Finish script before leaving for Vietnam. (ie 14 May)


Stage manager: Brian

-duties of SM include arranging rehearsal schedule, blocking and cueing.

-Get actors’ schedule on availability of dates for rehearsal (weekday nights, weekend) from now till Oct 26 by Wednesday, 14 May

-Note: Debbie will be away from 13 June to 9 July.

Publicity: Grace

-publicity should start in early August and peak in September

-find out from Bro Eric the usual number of invites for cantanta

-booklet

-the booklet should be something that people can bring home and think about reformation

-‘proposed contents’ to be sent to Debbie by 12 June

-poster

-find out number of posters to print by 31 May

-show designs to Debbie by 12 June
-ask bro Eric, Yong Hwee, Elvin to design also

-tell Lingting estimated budget after getting 3 quotes by 30 May

Costumes: Joyce

-ask design team to do a small research on Martin Luther’s time (6th century)

-for example, is it an oppressive period?

-general atmosphere, background, what do the people wear

-can get ideas from the movie too

-do a design brief of the costumes of all the characters (what they are wearing)

-distribute among team members

-can be drawn or printed from online search

-do all of the above by 31 May

-tell Lingting estimated budget by 30 May (get help from phoebe, dawn)

-finish the minutes and send to the relevant people (DONE! J)

Elliot

-help out in costumes

-check if it is possible to have a performance after morning service on 26 Oct by 31 May


Props: Elvin

-Debbie needs the general plan for the 7 scene (layout of props on stage, how the scene changes will take place, what is the door)

-decide what items you want for the set (blocks? Wood?)

- by 8 June ( before departure)

-tell Lingting estimated budget for props. (Debbie suggested $200 for props) by 30 May

Treasurer: Lingting

-get verbal consent from Rev. Quek first.

-compile the various estimated budget from Grace, Elvin, Joyce by 31 May

-propose directly to the session

3. Any Other Business

-Rehearsal would be done scene by scene so only those people involved in the scene will need to come down.

-Production/ Admin Meeting

-Twice a month

-first one on 31 May, 3pm

-subsequently, it’ll be 2nd and 4th Saturday after Debbie comes back

-2nd meeting will be on 12 July, 2nd Saturday (correct me if I’m wrong. It was said to be on 9th July but that is a Wednesday)

-Full dress rehearsal tentatively on 3 October

-Technical run tentatively on 10 October

-for the long term, the costumes can be stored on the 3rd floor, then move them to the 2nd floor as it gets closer to the performance.
